Everybody Needs A Place

about

Written for the incredible folks at Place and the Ben Kinney Companies

lyrics

Everybody needs a friend
Someone who’d ride with you until the bitter end
Anybody can just fend for themselves
What’s it worth when you’re left with no one else

There was a time when I was lost
Caught up in limitations unable to pay the cost
I set out into the great unknown
Driven by intention searching for a home

I was, trying to find some peace of mind
Wasn’t always the leading kind, (or, never been the fearful kind)
But I’m willing to run the race
Working towards a better life
Somewhere that feels like mine
Everybody needs a place

All I wanted was a chance
Just to make a difference in some way that would last
I need a purpose I can’t outlive
I needed to win so I could make a way to give

I was, trying to find some peace of mind
Wasn’t always the leading kind, (or, never been the fearful kind)
But I’m willing to run the race
Working towards a better life
Somewhere that feels like mine
Everybody needs a place

Life is more than an endless chase
Sometimes it’s hard to find your way
Don’t give up it’s just a matter of time
We all want a better life

I was, trying to find some peace of mind
Wasn’t always the leading kind, (or, never been the fearful kind)
But I’m willing to run the race
Working towards a better life
Somewhere that feels like mine
Everybody needs a place
